Resume Review

What is a CV/Resume?

A Resume, or a Curriculum Vitae (CV), is the first piece of document that you would need for a job application. To be successful in your job application, your resume must accurately reflect your strengths, skills, experiences, and potential.

If you have been applying for jobs unsuccessfully, you may benefit from having your resume looked over to ensure that it highlights the correct skill sets and experiences that the employers are looking for.

Your resume should highlight the necessary competencies that is required for the position that you are applying for.

How do your skills and experiences match what the employers are looking for?

Basic CV Template

You should have different resumes as you apply to different positions or vacancies. Each resume should be catered to match the requirements for each specific job role.
Keep it short and concise. Remember, quality > quantity. Focus on your most relevant skills and achievements instead of listing down every single thing you have ever done.
Focus on accomplishments and successes, rather than listing down your duties and responsibilities. People want to know about what you have done, rather than what you have to do.
Use quantifiable data and facts wherever possible. Show the impact of your work and accomplishments using numbers.
Include only what is necessary. Omit irrelevant and confidential personal details, such as marital status, identification number / passport number, and full home address.
